Before anything goes to a truck, see what can find a new home. During spring move-out, Residence Life partners with Green City Recycler to place green bins for soft recyclable items in every campus neighborhood. Clothes, bedding, and towels are good candidates.

- Express Checkout. In the Gardens and White Creek apartments, residents who choose Express Checkout must remove all of their belongings and clean the apartment before leaving. In the residence halls, you take on full responsibility for completing the items listed on the Express Checkout form.
- Loading zones. Temporary one-hour loading and unloading zones are set up near halls and apartments. Plan your car trips around that hour.
- Closing meetings. Your Resident Advisor hosts closing meetings, and going to one helps you avoid improper checkout fees.
How Should You Sort Before Your Last Week?
Sorting early makes the final push easy. Use three piles, and give each one a clear spot in the room.
- Keep. Things you use and can actually pack in the car or ship home.
- Give away. Items that work but are not worth hauling across the state.
- Haul. Anything broken, stained, or too big to move.
