Need mattress removal in College Station or Bryan? A mattress is big, floppy, and heavy. It will not fit in most cars, and it fights you on every stair turn. The easy fix is one phone call. We haul appliances, furniture, boxes, and even wood. Tell us you have a mattress or box spring when you call (979) 985-6541, and we will include it in your free quote.
Below you will find the city question, what our three paid options cost, and how to get the bed ready. Every BCS price here comes straight from our posted rates.
What Is the Easiest Way to Get Rid of a Mattress in College Station?
Let a crew carry it out and take it away. Our pickup starts at $125, and your mattress can be the one item that price covers. For a bigger cleanout, a dumpster or live load may fit better. You can also ask your city first.
The rest of this post walks through each path, starting with the one that might cost you nothing.
Does the City Pick Up Mattresses?
This is the first question most people ask, and the short answer is that you should check before you drag anything to the curb. Neither city’s main bulky trash page spells out a mattress rule.
College Station’s trash and recycling FAQ explains that bulky items and brush go out in separate piles, and its household waste and recycling guide covers what goes where. Neither page lists mattresses, so call the city’s main line at 979.764.3500 before you set one out.
Bryan collects brush and bulky items weekly, but its page does not list mattresses either, so contact the city first.
When Does a Paid Hauler Make More Sense?
The city route is a good deal when it works. A paid pickup is the better choice in a few cases:
- You live in an apartment. Many complexes have no curb you can use, and a mattress left by the dumpster can turn into a problem with the property office.
- The bed is upstairs. City crews collect from the curb. They do not carry a king mattress down a narrow stairwell for you.
- You are on a deadline. Lease end dates do not wait for the next collection day.
- You have more than a bed. If the couch, dresser, and garage junk are going too, one crew can take it all in one trip.
What Are My Mattress Removal Options With BCS?
We offer three ways to clear out a mattress. Pick the one that matches how much junk you have, how fast it needs to go, and how much lifting you want to do yourself.
Full-Service Haul-Away
Pick this if you want to skip the lifting. Our crew comes to your home, carries the mattress out, and loads it on our truck. You do not lift a thing. It is the best fit for one bed set or a few large pieces.
Dumpster Rental for a Bigger Project
Sometimes the mattress is just one piece of a move or a remodel. A 15-yard dumpster rental lets you load on your own schedule for three or seven days. Each one fits in one parking space and has double doors in the back, so you can walk a bed in instead of lifting it over a wall.
Live Load: The Middle Option
A live load splits the difference between a pickup and a dumpster. Our driver drops the container, you fill it during your time block, and it leaves with the driver. Nothing sits in your driveway overnight, which is handy for a rental turnover.
How Much Does Mattress Removal Cost in Bryan-College Station?
Our posted rates set the starting point. The $125 minimum covers your first item. Each extra piece of furniture adds $20 to $30, and the exact amount is set when you get your free quote. If you are clearing a whole house, a full 15-yard load is one flat price.
| BCS Option | Posted Price |
|---|---|
| Junk removal minimum (includes one item) | $125 |
| Each extra piece of furniture or appliance | +$20 to $30 |
| Full 15-yard load, haul-off | $650 flat |
| 15-yard dumpster, 3 days | $380 |
| 15-yard dumpster, 7 days | $420 |
| Dumpster dump fee | $60 per ton |
| Live load, 45 minutes (up to 1 ton) | $325 |
| Live load, 90 minutes (up to 1 ton) | $385 |
| Live load overage | $60 per ton |
We do not post a separate mattress price, so your quote is built around what you actually have. You can see every rate on our junk removal pricing page.
One more detail matters for planning. We have a 24-hour cancellation policy, so if you cancel with less than a day to go, you will owe half of the appointment total.
Which Option Fits Your Mattress Job?
Size is the deciding factor. Here is a quick way to choose.
- One mattress or one bed set: A haul-away is usually best. You pay the minimum plus any extra pieces, and the crew does the work.
- A bed plus a room or two of stuff: A live load lets you fill the container and finish in one visit.
- A whole house or a long project: A 7-day dumpster gives you a full week to sort and load.
Our dumpster rental vs. junk removal vs. live load guide compares all three in more detail if you are still on the fence.
Can an Old Mattress Be Donated or Recycled?
Some can, but many cannot. Charities tend to be picky about bedding, so a stained or sagging mattress is usually headed for disposal. Reusable pieces can go to our donation partners, Habitat for Humanity and Goodwill. Anything that cannot be reused goes to recycling or proper waste disposal.
If you want to donate a mattress on your own, call the charity first and ask if they take one. Our BCS disposal and recycling guide covers where other household items go in Brazos County.
What If My Mattress Has Bed Bugs?
Tell us when you call for your quote.
A few general steps help no matter who hauls it. Wrap the mattress and box spring in thick plastic and tape the seams before it leaves the bedroom. That keeps bugs from dropping off in the hallway. Treating the room is a separate job, so talk to a pest control company about that part.
How Do I Get My Mattress Ready for Pickup?
You do not have to do much. Still, a few small steps make the visit faster and help us quote it right.
- Strip the bed. Pull off the sheets, pads, and pillows you plan to keep.
- Clear a path. Move rugs, toys, and small furniture out of the hallway.
- Group your items. If the box spring and frame are going too, put them together.
- Mention the stairs. Let us know when you book if the bed is on a second floor.
- Add the extras. An old couch or dresser can ride along on the same trip.
If you are moving out of a dorm or apartment, our Aggieland student move-out guide covers the rest of the checklist. If you have a whole bedroom set to clear, our furniture and appliance removal guide explains how those pieces are priced.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you pick up box springs too?
Tell us about the mattress and box spring when you call, and both go into your free quote. The $125 minimum covers your first item, and each extra piece of furniture or appliance adds $20 to $30. Mention the frame or headboard too.
Can I put a mattress in a rented dumpster?
Check with us on what is allowed before you load one. Our 15-yard dumpsters have double doors in the back, so you can walk large items in instead of lifting them over the side. If the bed is the only big item, a haul-away is often simpler than renting a dumpster for days.
Is there a free way to dispose of one mattress?
Start with your city. Neither city’s bulky pickup page lists mattresses, so call your city before you set one out. If the city cannot take it, or the mattress is stuck upstairs, our $125 minimum covers it as your one included item, and the crew does the lifting.
Do you donate mattresses?
We cannot promise that any mattress will be donated. Our partners are Habitat for Humanity and Goodwill, and charities decide what they can accept. Anything that cannot be reused goes to recycling or proper waste disposal. Tell us about your mattress when you book, and we will go over your options.
How soon can you pick up my mattress?
A few days of lead time (three to five is ideal) makes booking easy. Same-day pickup is possible when a truck is free. Plans change, so note our 24-hour cancellation policy: canceling inside that window means paying half of the appointment total.
What areas do you cover for mattress removal?
Our service area covers College Station, Bryan, Navasota, Brenham, Caldwell, Iola, and Somerville. If you live near Aggieland but outside those towns, ask us anyway. We can let you know on that call whether your address is in range.
Ready to Get Rid of That Mattress?
An old mattress does not need to lean against the garage wall for another month. Check with your city if the free route fits. If it does not, BCS Junk Removal will come out, give you a free quote, and haul it away. Have a question first? Call us, and we will walk you through it.
We serve College Station and the whole Bryan-College Station area. Call (979) 985-6541 for mattress removal today. Give us a call! We do it all!
